Firstly, welcome to Reception class! We have had such a fantastic first week at school and are so proud of the children. They are already settling in so well! We have had such a busy week learning the rules and routines of school and getting to know each other. Take a look at what we have been getting up to...

Butterflies!!!!

During the last week of term 5 our class caterpillars finally hatched from their cocoons as beautiful butterflies. The children were very excited to see this happen and set them free.

Bristol Zoo

Reception had an amazing time visiting Bristol Zoo. The children got the opportunity to hold a range of mini-beasts  including cockroaches! They also explored the butterfly house where some children got to see two butterflies emerge from their cocoon right in front of their eyes. Lovely weather allowed us to enjoy our lunch outside. The Hungry Caterpillar

Welcome back to the final summer terms. Reception's new text is 'The Hungry Caterpillar' and the children are thoroughly enjoying learning about it along side the life cycle of a butterfly.

We are due to have our live caterpillars arrive any day now and we are all getting very excited. We are also looking forward to our class trip to Bristol Zoo to learn more about mini beasts.
